In numerology, the life path number is the most important number in your profile. It comes from your full date of birth.
How to calculate it
Reduce the day, month and year separately to a single digit, then add them and reduce again. Keep 11, 22 and 33 as they are; these are master numbers.
Example: 15 May 1990
- Day: 15 becomes 1 + 5 = 6
- Month: May is 5
- Year: 1990 becomes 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 19, then 1 + 9 = 10, then 1 + 0 = 1
- Total: 6 + 5 + 1 = 12, then 1 + 2 = 3

Birth number and destiny number
Besides the life path, Indian numerology commonly uses:
- Birth number (Moolank): your birth day reduced to one digit. Someone born on the 15th has birth number 6.
- Destiny number (Bhagyank): in Indian usage this is usually the same total as the life path.
- Name number (Namank): from the letters of your name.
Many people consider a name "lucky" when its number is friendly with the birth and destiny numbers.
